Distant stars

A smile never lies

And yours had that perfect tone of chagrin

I lost skin and bones

Capturing sunrays to light up your world

And I missed neither one

Because my universe had expanded

With the bliss I saw in your eyes

On that winter day as the world slept

And we came alive

Bursting forth from the Earth like frustrated arrows

We went on expanding

Until we became distant stars

That glowed in babes’ eyes.
