Losing balance

I lose my balance

Whenever I put my feet out there

Or is it when I put my mind out there?

I don’t know and yet I know

That my feet always point

Wherever my mind leans

And it doesn’t take much to throw

My mind off balance

My worries are the size of a ballpoint pen

And yet loom large like the moon at my window

My loves are whispers of the wind

And yet act like tornadoes in my heart

So I like to keep my toes and my fingers unfurled

Ready or not here I am

My arms fully extended

My body cross shaped

I only exist for placing one foot in front of the other
